What is Therapy?

Therapy, or psychotherapy, is the process by which many people come to terms with issues and concerns in their life. This process involves meeting with a therapist for the purpose of resolving problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, or somatic responses (which means sensations in the body). Therapy is used to address and resolve a wide variety of concerns and symptoms.

The belief that people who go to therapy are “crazy” or “damaged” is false. The most common demographic of therapy goers include every day, ordinary people struggling with every day, human problems.
